Cuba and Malta sign tourism agreement

Rome, July 25 (Prensa Latina) The Ministries of Tourism of Cuba and Malta signed a memorandum of understanding in Valletta, the capital of that European nation, aimed at strengthening bilateral ties in this sector, a diplomatic source informed.

Cuban ambassador Mirta Granda signed this new agreement on behalf of Cuba, while Malta was represented by Christopher Cutajar, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Tourism of that Mediterranian country.

A statement from the Cuban diplomatic mission point out that the ceremony took place as part of Granda’s visit to Malta, during which she held various meetings with government authorities, solidarity associations, business leaders, and fellow citizens residing in that nation.

After signing the memorandum, both parties stressed on the importance of the provisions of the document, which establishes a shared commitment to increasing the promotion of the potential of both islands as attractive tourist destinations.

The agreement includes strengthening relations between sector specialists, greater cooperation in the field of vocational training, and the exchange of publications and thematic materials, among other aspects of mutual interest, the source adds.
