“We, participants in the Russian and international solidarity movement, cordially congratulate you and all the Cuban people on the 72nd anniversary of the attack on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes garrisons, actions led by the distinguished revolutionary Fidel Castro,” the message emphasizes.

In the note signed by, among others, the Russian Committee for the Struggle against the Blockade of Cuba, the “Venceremos” movement, and the Khlebnikov Workers’ University, it is emphasized that the historical distance increasingly highlights the enduring significance of the Moncada feat.

The Moncada feat and the struggle of the July 26th Movement influenced the destiny of the entire world. At the height of the Cold War, at the gates of the imperialist superpower, a spark of disobedience ignited the flame of the Revolution, the message adds.

Finally, the signatories of the document expressed their opposition to the intensification of the arbitrary economic coercion measures imposed on Cuba by the Trump “memorandum” and the Rubio “list,” in defiance of the United Nations Charter and the will of the international community.
