According to a statement from the general management of that entity, five high-voltage towers were sabotaged and now require major repairs and large-scale logistical mobilizations to find suitable solutions and alternatives.
The company called on its subscribers to remain calm and promises to work tirelessly to allow the return of normal electricity as soon as possible.

Now, with this initiative, some subscribers will have power in certain areas of Port-au-Prince until normality returns, however, it all seems far off for the rest of the capital.
On June 17, residents of Mirebalais seized a hydroelectric plant in Peligre for the second time, demanding that the government strengthen security to stop the cruelty and impunity of gang members in the area.
On that occasion, the Presidential Transitional Council promised to comply with the demand, but residents warned that failure to comply would result in the resumption of operations at the power plant and cause another blackout in Port-au-Prince. However, they did keep their word.
