In a statement, Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei called the measures illegal and unjust and accused Washington of hostility toward the Iranian people and of attempting to undermine the nation’s economic development and public welfare.
The diplomat criticized the United States for resorting to unilateral and coercive sanctions, stating that such actions violate international law, state sovereignty, and human rights.
Baqaei urged the international community to hold the United States accountable for the consequences of its illegal sanctions.
At the same time, he highlighted decades of US-Israeli aggression, noting that sabotage, sanctions, and recent attacks will not weaken Iran’s resolve.
In this regard, he reaffirmed Tehran’s firm determination to pursue its noble goals of protecting national sovereignty and building the homeland in the face of Washington’s provocations.
