Panama bets on keeping close ties with India

New Delhi, Jul 31 (Prensa Latina) Panama's Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Hoyos, who is continuing a diplomatic and political visit in this capital, stated that his country wishes to maintain close ties with New Delhi.

“India has been a trusted partner of Panama. We have had diplomatic relations for 63 years, and we want to continue fostering them,” Hoyos told Prensa Latina.

The deputy foreign minister is profiting from his visit to India to meet with business leaders, diplomats, and politicians to continue strengthening ties between India and Panama.

Hoyos expressed his confidence in the mutual benefit of these contacts for both countries, which will extend to the ties between India and the Central American and Caribbean regions.

The deputy minister also mentioned innovation and technology as one of the areas with the greatest potential for boosting economic and commercial relations between Panama and India.

Among those objectives, he highlighted that the Panamanian Government is committed to partnerships with the Indian Institute of Technology, which he described as a leader in 21st-century innovation and education.
