Türkiye sends 165 trucks of humanitarian aid to Gaza

Ankara, August 4 (Prensa Latina) The Turkish Red Crescent announced the dispatch of 165 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, in a new act of solidarity aimed at mitigating the humanitarian tragedy experienced by the Palestinian people.

According to a statement released by the organization to Anadolu Agency, the vehicles departed from the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing after a temporary authorization from the Israeli army to allow the entry of limited humanitarian aid.

The shipment included nearly 3,000 tons of food, enough, according to the organization, to cover the basic needs of approximately 50,000 people for a month.

The president of the Turkish Red Crescent, Fatma Meric Yilmaz, reaffirmed her country’s commitment to delivering urgent assistance to the civilian population of Gaza and called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire to allow the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid.

Data released by the government press office in Gaza indicates that since July 27, Israel has allowed the entry of only 674 trucks, representing just 14% of the Strip’s minimum daily needs, estimated at around 600 trucks per day.
