The government is accused of inefficiency, for acting slowly in the face of gang violence, corruption, and the socioeconomic crisis.
The signatories of the Caribbean Agreement protested against the CPT and proposed a new alternative to get the country out of this multidimensional crisis.
Several social and political organizations insist that, more than a year after its implementation, the CPT has still not implemented the points set forth in the April 3 Agreement.
This document mandated the aforementioned political body to restore security and organize general elections in 2025, among other commitments.
The CPT failed to comply, and social and political organizations consider the structure a failure and should therefore step down.
“We can see every day that the security situation in the country is worsening, the population has no way out, and it is essential to replace these men with another interim government,” a supporter of the Caribbean Accord, quoted by the newspaper Le National, said.
