Cuban youth donate blood and art in tribute to Fidel Castro

Camagüey, Cuba, Aug 12 (Prensa Latina) Young people from the socio-cultural project Golpe a Golpe were the protagonists of a massive blood donation today in this province of Cuba, tcelebrating World Youth Day and Fidel Castro's legacy.

More than 40 artists and workers voluntarily participated in the day, reaffirming their commitment to the motto “Donating blood is saving lives”.

The initiative, recognized by the health authorities, takes place three times a year, including emblematic dates of the Cuban Revolution.

At the same time, the group carries out a broad summer plan with more than 420 cultural actions in rural and urban communities, prioritizing the 36 areas in transformation of the province.

“We even get to impassable places, because where there is a Cuban in need of art, there we will be”, said Yunielsky Naranjo, promoter of the project, which combines solidarity and creation.

Today’s event also paid tribute to the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, as part of global celebrations for Youth Day that highlight the role of new generations in social change.

With the support of the provincial government and the transport company, Golpe a Golpe ensures access to culture in remote areas where the transfer of artists requires even adapted trucks.

The Asociación Hermanos Saiz collaborates in these actions, although today some of its members have joined the Literary Crusade in the municipality of Guaimaro, expanding the cultural impact.

The initiative reflects the internationalist spirit of Cuba, linking the global celebration of youth with concrete actions of solidarity and cultural development within the island.
