“The Ukrainian regime is intensifying its terrorist activity against our regions as the Russian-American summit in Alaska approaches,” the ministry’s deputy spokesperson, Alexei Fadeev, said in a press conference on Wednesday.
Fadeev reported that on the night of August 12-13 alone, air defenses shot down 46 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones, 15 of them in Bryansk province, 11 in Volgograd, and also in the Rostov, Belgorod, Voronezh, and Krasnodar regions and the Crimean peninsula.
“The Ukrainian regime has never thought about peace, and even less so now, and sees any negotiations as a way to prolong the fighting and cling to power,” he emphasized.
The spokesperson emphasized that the Ukrainian regime is actively supported in this endeavor by its Western backers.
Previously, the Russian Ministry of Defense revealed that Ukrainian authorities were preparing provocations to sabotage the Putin-Trump summit.
According to a report by the agency, the Security Service of Ukraine took foreign journalists to the town of Chuguyev, located about 40 kilometers from the Russian border, on August 11 to “prepare a series of reports.”
According to available information, the Ukrainian military orchestrated a false-flag attack with drones and missiles against the aforementioned town immediately before the summit to cause a large number of civilian casualties and attribute it to Russia, which would be immediately “witnessed” by the foreign journalists brought to the area.
