DRC Prime Minister to attend conference in Japan

Kinshasa, Aug 19 (Prensa Latina) The Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Judith Suminwa Tuluka, will arrive in Japan today to attend the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD), scheduled for August 20-22.

The Head of Government will be in Yokohama, venue of the meeting, accompanied by five members of her cabinet linked to the key themes of the meeting, such as Economy, Vocational Training, Foreign Trade, Mines and Foreign Affairs.

According to a statement from the office of Suminwa Tuluka, the delegation hopes that Ticad will be an opportunity to strengthen the partnership between the DRC and Japan, not only in economic terms but also through a comprehensive approach of cooperation and exchange of experiences.

The Asian nation has been one of the main players in the recent confrontation to the Mpox epidemic on Congolese territory, becoming a major donor of vaccines.

Other areas also benefited from the joint work, which they hope to strengthen with meetings in the Asian nation.

This is the Prime Minister’s second visit to the land of the rising sun, reflecting her intention to deepen cooperation based on mutual respect and shared learning.
