It is our pleasure to address you and to convey you on behalf of the people and the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity of Nicaragua, as well as on our own, our fraternal congratulations to your government and to the brotherly Afghan people, highlighted the Sandinista executive’s message to Supreme Leader Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, and Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hasan Akhund.
Nicaragua sent its sincerest wishes for health and prosperity to the Afghan people and Government, while reiterating its determination to continue strengthening the bonds of friendship, solidarity and cooperation that unite both countries.
“Receive, dear brothers, our expression of fraternal affection and our best wishes for peace, prosperity and well-being for your dear people,” said the text made up of Co-Chairmen Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo.
In 1919, Afghanistan gained formal independence from British control after the Third Anglo-Afghan War consolidated with the Treaty of Rawalpindi.
This agreement is considered a landmark in the history of Afghanistan, as it ended the British protectorate and gave the country control over its foreign affairs.
