We view with extreme concern the Israeli Army’s announcement to begin its offensive with the reoccupation of Gaza City, which threatens to force the further displacement of more than 900,000 people, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates affirmed in a statement.
It emphasized that the implementation of this plan once again reveals the reality of the war launched by that country against the Palestinian State, its lands, and its people.
It warned of plans to displace forcibly the Palestinian population and the attempts to “transform the Gaza Strip into a land unfit for human habitation.”
The Ministry praised the mediators’ efforts to achieve a permanent ceasefire that would prevent the implementation of Israeli plans, guarantee the protection of civilians, and allow for the sustainable and widespread delivery of humanitarian aid.
In a statement last week, the Foreign Ministry urged the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to activate its role in monitoring and implementing its resolutions related to the conflict with Israel.
