La Colmenita takes Vietnam’s optimism and hope to Cuba

Hanoi, Aug 28 (Prensa Latina) From now on, everything we do at La Colmenita will try to imitate this joy, this optimism, this hope, Carlos Cremata, director of the Cuban children's theater company, affirmed in this capital on Thursday.

Visibly moved at the end of a moving meeting between his children’s group and students from the Vietnam-Cuba elementary school, Cremata told Prensa Latina that “these children are love transformed into human beings, and that is what all humanity truly deserves.”

Cremata, who is also the founder, in February 1990, of the renowned Cuban artistic troupe, said that, like the rest of the company, he was deeply impressed by this visit to Vietnam.

Coming to this land in the year in which we commemorate the 65th anniversary of absolutely exemplary relations between both parties is a great privilege for any Cuban.

He stressed that during these days in Hanoi, they received countless displays of affection and could experience, closely, the enormous affection the Vietnamese citizens feel for the Cuban people.

La Colmenita, a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 2007, performed on Tuesday at the modern Ho Guom Theater, in the context of the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Year, the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations, and the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s independence.

“Cenicienta… segun los Beatles” (Cinderella … according to The Beatles), a revamped version of the classic fairy tale accompanied by the immortal songs of the legendary British band, was this time the play with which the Cuban children’s group left an unforgettable impression on the Vietnamese audience.
