Toronto’s festival against the blockade of Cuba that sings and blooms

Toronto, Sep 5 (Prensa Latina) Tranzac Club, in this Canadian city, will host next October 10 and 11 the cultural festival Cuba Canta y Florece, an event of solidarity against the U.S. blockade against the Cuba.

The encounter, which began to be held in Santiago de Chile in 2021, will feature Cuban singers Raul Torres (singer-songwriter), Fidel Diaz (singer-songwriter and journalist) and Erdwin Vichot (lute player), according to the event’s official website https://www.cubacantayflorece.com.

Local Canadian talents and Anishinaabe (indigenous) writers will also participate.

On October 11, there will be panel discussions and workshops with free admission for the public from noon to 17:00, local time, while concerts will start at 21:00.

Backed by the Cuban Ministry of Culture and the production company MondoConcha, the initiative is supported by the Canadian Network on Cuba (CNC) and the Andthenyoudie collective.

The CNC stressed that the festival will facilitate an immersive cultural exchange between Cuba and Canada, showcasing Cuban traditions and the impact of art on social development.
