This Monday, law enforcement forces repressed a demonstration organized by local civil society in protest against the appointment of General Olivier Gasita as head of military operations in the region, a figure accused of being linked to the rebels of the Alliance du Rive Congo-Movement 23 March (AFC/M23).

According to Sokola 2 operations spokesperson, Second Lieutenant Reagan Mbuyi Kalonji, a 12-year-old boy was shot dead, and nine people were injured: four soldiers and five civilians.
