The event will be attended by the publisher’s deputy commercial director, Yanet Cáceres, as well as journalists and writers Liudmila Peña and Ciro Bianchi, authors of the books Mamá “Cuentalotodo” and La Habana de Hemingway y otras historias, respectively, both published by the publishing house.
At the event, conducted by journalist and critic Fernando Rodriguez, the public will be able to buy these and new titles from the Abril Publishing House’s catalog.
According to a press release issued by the Cuban Book Institute, Manuel Ramirez and Osmany Romero, director and composer of the music for the five audiobooks that include narrations of José Martí’s La Edad de Oro, produced by Editora Abril and Productora RadioArte, will also attend the event.
The timely eulogy is intended to pay tribute to writers, books, historical events and institutions that reach their anniversaries.
It owes its name to Marti’s aphorism “timely praise encourages merit; and the lack of timely praise discourages it”, which appeared in the pages of Patria newspaper in April 1892.
The space is sponsored by Fayad Jamís Bookstore and the Roberto Fernández Retamar Martí Club.
