The Ministry of Education and Higher Education stated that thousands of students in the coastal enclave were killed and hundreds of facilities in the sector were destroyed by the airstrikes.
Such actions are a crime against humanity, affirmed the text, issued on International Day to Protect Education from Attack, celebrated every September 9.
The Ministry also criticized the Israeli Armed Forces (IDF) incursions into the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
It stated that before these crimes, we call on the international community to assume its responsibilities and take urgent measures to “stop this genocide against Palestinian education and ensure the protection of schools, students, and teachers.”
The Ministry reported last week that the IDF has killed 18,651 students and injured 29,114 in the occupied territories since the outbreak of the current cycle of violence in October 2023.

Acusan a Israel de destruir la educación en Palestina
Ramala, 9 sep (Prensa Latina) El sistema educativo palestino está sometido a una aniquilación sistemática continua y sin precedentes por parte de Israel, en especial en la Franja de Gaza, alertó hoy una fuente oficial.
En un comunicado, el Ministerio de Educación y Educación Superior afirmó que miles de alumnos en el enclave costero murieron y cientos de instalaciones del sector fueron destruidas por los bombardeos.
Tales acciones constituyen un crimen contra la humanidad, afirmó el texto, emitido con motivo del Día Internacional para la Protección de la Educación de Ataques, celebrado cada 9 de septiembre.
La cartera también criticó las incursiones de las Fuerzas Armadas israelíes (FDI) en la ocupada Cisjordania, incluida Jerusalén Este.
Ante esos crímenes, llamamos a la comunidad internacional a asumir sus responsabilidades y adoptar medidas urgentes para “detener este genocidio contra la educación palestina y para garantizar la protección de las escuelas, los estudiantes y los maestros”, expresó.
La pasada semana, el Ministerio denunció que las FDI mataron a 18 mil 651 estudiantes e hirieron a 29 mil 114 en los territorios ocupados desde el estallido del actual ciclo de violencia, en octubre de 2023.
