In an official statement, the Jordanian Foreign Ministry denounced the bombings as a “grave violation of Syrian sovereignty” and warned that such acts constitute a dangerous escalation in the already tense regional scenario.
The Kingdom demands the immediate cessation of these repeated Israeli aggressions and actions that undermine the territorial integrity and internal stability of the Syrian Arab Republic, said official spokesman Fuad Majali, who stressed that such acts violate not only the UN Charter, but also Israel’s obligations under the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
Majali reiterated Jordan’s firm and unwavering support for Syria’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, and recalled that “the stability of this neighboring country remains an essential pillar for regional security.”
The spokesman also urged the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities in the face of these violations, and to take immediate steps to stop the Israeli attacks, holding Tel Aviv accountable for its actions.
