The military institution specifies that during the Zapad 2025 maneuver, the Northern Fleet ships conducted a series of tasks to neutralize a simulated enemy landing detachment, firing missiles and artillery in the Northern Sea Route.
The Ministry noted that, upon receiving the order to attack the “enemy” naval group, a Ka-27 naval helicopter was deployed from the large anti-submarine ship Severomorsk, which conducted aerial reconnaissance, located the simulated enemy landing detachment, and provided target designation to the ship.
The Zapad 2025 drills are taking place from September 12 to 16 at training sites in Belarus and Russia, as well as in the Baltic Sea and the Barents Sea.
Military forces from both countries will train in the control of joint, regional, and coalition forces in the face of potential aggression against the Union State and will practice several options for joint action to neutralize threats and stabilize the situation on their borders.
