Havana Film Festival and UNESCO screen series on Trinidad

Havana, Sept 19 (Prensa Latina) The International Festival of New Latin American Cinema announced the screening of a documentary series on the city of Trinidad, in the Cuban central province of Sancti Spiritus, as part of a regional project with UNESCO.

The series “Trinidad, el arte de permanecer” (Trinidad, the Art of Permanence) was presented there on its inflatable mobile screen, thanks to bilateral film screening agreements, the festival detailed in a statement.

Hundreds of local residents packed around to enjoy the production, which expresses the commitment of our event and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization to promote spaces for exhibition, dialogue, and cultural exchange in Cuban and Caribbean cities, and the rest of the region, the publication expressed.

“Trinidad, the Art of Permanence,” is a documentary series about the city’s heritage values ​​and is part of UNESCO’s Communities for Heritage project.

Anne Lemaistre, director of the UNESCO Regional Office, emphasized that this documentary series reflects the values ​​of the island’s and the Caribbean’s identity, heritage, and culture, and thanked all Trinidad people for upholding the cultural traditions that distinguish this city. The statement highlighted.

The 46th International Festival of New Latin American Cinema, which strengthens and creates ties with various cultural and academic institutions, will take place from December 4 to 14 of this year.
