Venezuela responds with popular unity in face of US threats

Caracas, Sep 19 (Prensa Latina) Authorities and the people are responding to the threats of US military aggression against Venezuela with greater unity and commitment to defending the nation, a recent survey revealed.

The response of more than four million women and men to join the Bolivarian Militia in response to the deployment of eight warships, a nuclear submarine, and more than 4,000 US military personnel in the Caribbean reflects the majority’s sentiment for their homeland.

The national survey by the Dataviva firm, specializing in global and regional analysis, revealed that 77 percent of Venezuelans expressed their willingness to defend the country against the aggression.

The 88.9 percent believed that US President Donald Trump’s actions seek regime change, and 91 percent estimated that the real reason for Trump’s threats against their nation is oil.

President Nicolas Maduro reiterated Washington’s interest in seizing his country’s oil.

The president stated that behind the false accusations against his nation, proven by the United Nations, the European Union (EU), the World Customs Organization (WCO), and official data from the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), “there is an imperial plan for a regime change and the imposition of a puppet government” to steal the world’s largest oil reserves.

The Dataviva survey, conducted from September 1 to 15 among 7,000 respondents aged 18 and older, with a 95 percent confidence interval, and a three percent error rate, revealed that 89 percent of Venezuelans believe that their nation is sovereign.
