According to reports from Cubadebate, the initiative was presented at the national headquarters of the Italian General Confederation of Labor, with the participation of prominent figures from the trade union, cultural, and diplomatic spheres.
The campaign arises in response to the difficulties Cuba faces in ensuring stable electricity service, a situation that directly affects hospitals, schools, cultural centers, and homes.
“We cannot remain indifferent. Light in homes and energy for life also depend on international solidarity,” the organizers stated.
Every donation, regardless of size, will be a concrete gesture of friendship and brotherhood toward the island, which is resisting the consequences of the blockade. “Cuba is not alone,” the participants affirmed.
This initiative not only seeks to alleviate an energy emergency, but also to reaffirm the historic bonds of solidarity between the Caribbean nation and Italy. “Together we can make a difference,” the organizers concluded, inviting Italian society to join the cause.
