Uruguay denounces US falseness against Venezuela

Montevideo, Sep 25 (Prensa Latina) The United States produces psychological war stories that accompany today’s military threat against Venezuela, denounced here the consul of the Bolivarian country, Pedro Sassone.

It was a meeting convened by the Uruguayan chapter of the Anti-Fascist International in which participated the ambassador Antonio Pardo, responsible for Cuba’s Business and the deputy for the Broad Front, Tatiana Antúnez.

Also the feminist activist Tamara Abracinskas and the social activist Anahi Acosta, together with representatives of social movements, trade unions and members of the diplomatic corps accredited here.

Sassone denounced that Washington distorts reality and tarnishes the image of President Nicolás Maduro by linking his administration with drug trafficking.

They are, he said, pretexts to justify the deployment of warships, deprive support for the Venezuelan government and undermine its institutionality.

For his part, Ambassador Pardo highlighted the collection of citizens’ signatures in solidarity with Venezuela taking place in his country.

He recalled the record of attacks that the US committed against Cuba in the last six decades, ranging from terrorism, sabotage, armed invasion, biological warfare and economic, financial and commercial encirclement.

Evoked the 158 deaths, of which 101 children, in 1981 victims of dengue hemorrhagic introduced in the Antillean island with the collusion of the US intelligence services.

Anahi Acosta recalled that in the twentieth century, the United States intervened in more than 40 countries, either with invasions, military attacks, unilateral punitive measures, among other modalities.

He added that in the current century more than 15 countries are victims of US interference.

Deputy Antunez referred to Washington’s conspiracy with the South American dictatorships and the Condor Plan, responsible for disappearances in the region.

He called the siege around Cuba criminal and genocidal and denounced the claim of “imperialism to take over Venezuela’s natural resources”.
