Cubans in Angola reaffirm support of Venezuela against aggressions

Luanda, Oct 3 (Prensa Latina) Members of the Cuban diplomatic mission in Angola reaffirmed their support for the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela against aggression and threats from the United States.

In a ceremony held at the headquarters, presided over by Cuban Ambassador Oscar Leon and the advisor to the Venezuelan representation in that country, Anyel Zambrano, the participants signed the Declaration of Support entitled “It is Urgent to Prevent Military Aggression Against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.”

Leon noted that the signature extends to those being expressed by the people of the Caribbean nation in communities, schools, and workplaces, and commented that in the case of Angolan lands, Cuban collaborators working in different parts of the country are also doing so.

In this way, we express our support for the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela, its people, that country’s civil-military unity, and the defense of peace, especially the Declaration of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace, signed in 2014 in Havana by the heads of state and government, the ambassador said.

The Venezuelan counselor expressed her gratitude for Cuba’s act of solidarity, which is not only the government’s, but also the people of the island, who have always been united with Venezuela, both in good times and in the face of threats from powers with imperial ambitions.

She added that even though we are living in a different era, there are still countries that maintain these desires and attempt to trample on the dignity of the peoples of both countries, but also of all of Latin America, which is a zone of peace declared by the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).

Zambrano took the opportunity to denounce the incursion of military aircraft into the Maiquetía international flight zone, an act of provocation intended, as the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, to plot a US intervention in Venezuela.
