El Fasher, considered the last bastion of the Army in the region, has been under constant attack for months by the so-called Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which seek to take it at all costs and at any price, to install a self-proclaimed parallel government there, unrecognized by the international community.
In addition to the fatalities, 19 other people were injured, including seven children, according to local medical sources, who called on international organizations to take urgent measures to stop attacks against civilians and open humanitarian corridors.
For months, the city’s situation has deteriorated due to constant artillery and drone bombardment.
Sources report a near-total lack of basic services, primarily water and food, resulting in numerous deaths every day, mostly children, victims of hunger and disease.
Since mid-April 2023, this African nation has been plunged into an internal war, following the rise of power struggles between Army Chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the leader of the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, Mohamed Hamdan Daglo.
