The figures correspond to the second quarter of this year and specify that 73.88 percent correspond to self-employed workers, 16.42 percent to private employees, 7.25 percent to employers or active partners, and 2.42 percent to unpaid family members.
A comparison of the results with the first quarter shows a growth of 29,269 new independent workers in the informal sector, reflecting the expansion of unregistered activities and private entrepreneurship.
Of the 5,123 548 people employed in the country during the period analyzed, 2, 517 565 (49.13 percent) were in the formal sector.
