Prior to her appointment, the new head of mission worked as a strategic advisor at SAS, an American multinational company specializing in data analysis and artificial intelligence.
Between 2013 and 2019, she served as an advisor to the House of Representative Foreign Affairs Committee and, simultaneously, as Chief of Staff for the Western Hemisphere Subcommittee between 2013 and 2015.
At the beginning of her career, she worked in the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), according to the embassy’s statement.
The last ambassador in Santo Domingo was Robin Bernstein, who completed her mission in January 2021.
Subsequently, then-President Joe Biden appointed Calvin Smyre, although he was reassigned in May 2022 as head of the diplomatic mission to the Bahamas.
Over the past three years, the Dominican Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reiterated that the absence of a resident ambassador does not affect the development of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
