Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun noted that his country’s position focuses on supporting the principle that “Palestinian affairs should be handled by the Palestinians themselves.”
He added that China advocates for implementing the two-state solution as the fundamental way to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Guo said his government is willing to work together with the international community to achieve a just, comprehensive and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue.
He stressed that Beijing will go on working to contribute to peace and stability in the Middle East.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced last night on Truth Social that Israel and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) signed the first part of a plan to stop the conflict, which began more than two years ago.
“This means that all hostages will be released very soon and Israel will withdraw its forces to an agreed line as a first step to a solid, lasting and sustainable peace,” he stressed.
