In a statement from the Spanish Foreign Ministry, it highlighted the implementation of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza on the basis of the U.S. plan presented by President Donald Trump.
“After two years of conflict, with this agreement progress is being made towards the end of violence, the release of hostages and the massive influx of humanitarian aid for the Gazan population,” it noted.
In particular, the note emphasized that the parties must act responsibly and respect the terms of the agreement.
It also offered its commitment to support the implementation of the agreement and will redouble its efforts in this new framework to achieve a lasting peace in the Middle East, based on the effective implementation of the two-state solution.
In this regard, the Second Vice-President and Minister of Labor, Yolanda Diaz, said that the beginning of the cease-fire in Gaza, following the agreement reached between Israel and Hamas, is a first step towards ending the “21st century atrocity” suffered by the Palestinian people.
