This election will take place in the preparatory sessions that will follow the October 29th delivery by the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) of the credentials to the 36 regular senators and an equal number of alternates.
Article 8 of the regulations states that, once the credentials have been delivered by the TSE, the elected authorities will meet within five business days prior to the installation of the Plurinational Legislative Assembly (ALP), scheduled for November 8th, where Rodrigo Paz will be sworn in as head of state.
During the preparatory session, the credentials will be approved, the board of directors will be formed, and the preparatory actions for the installation of the new constitutional term will be carried out.
As this is a new stage based on the State’s Political Constitution, the preparatory process will be led by an Ad Hoc Board composed of a president and a secretary representing the elected majority, and another secretary representing the minority.
The Senate will also appoint a Credentials Committee for the sole purpose of examining and evaluating the credentials granted by the TSE to the elected senators.
