Venezuela: Costa Independencia 200 drill continues deployment

Caracas, Oct 24 (Prensa Latina) The Costa Independencia 200 defense drill continues with its deployment in this country's northern coastal zone, which includes all states bordering the Caribbean Sea, in response to the threat of US aggression.

The maneuver involves the deployment of military personnel and assets from Sucre to Zulia, passing through the states of La Guaira, Falcon, Miranda, Anzoategui, Nueva Esparta, and Carabobo, with missions aimed at protecting strategic areas and sectors.

Nicolas Maduro, Commander-in-Chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) and President of the Republic, stated that the drill will continue for 72 hours, until Saturday, to establish operational effectiveness at all defense points.

Maduro described it as a “complete success” and congratulated the glorious FANB, the militia members, police forces, and the country’s commando groups, stating, “We will defend peace.”

He explained that the lightning-fast defensive military exercise began early Thursday. The hundred percent of coast was covered at 09:00 hours (local time) with all the equipment and heavy weapons needed to defend it “if necessary.”
