Cuban Book Institute presents texts Havana

Havana, Nov 1 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Book Institute (ICL) will present four titles belonging to the Biblioteca del Pueblo collection at the traditional Sabado del Libro (Saturday Book) literary event in Havana.

Attendees could read again the books “Documentos” by Simon Bolivar, “Memorias Postumas de Blas Cubas” by Joaquim Machado de Assis, “Cuentos de Locura y Muerte” by Horacio Quiroga, and “Materia Alucinada. Poems” by Gabriela Mistral, all published by the Casa de las Americas publisher in Havana.

These books, from the Casa de las Americas catalog, were launched during the 2025 Havana International Book Fair as part of the best-selling Biblioteca del Pueblo collection, an initiative that brings together 70 titles of Cuban and universal literature.

This literary event gathers readers every Saturday on Calle de Madera, next to Plaza de Armas in Old Havana.
