The chairman of the Commission to Combat Online Scams (CCOS), Chhay Sinarith, and the British ambassador to Cambodia, Dominic Williams, stressed the importance of bilateral collaboration in dismantling criminal networks.
In this regard, Sinarith stressed that the CCOS acts as a mechanism working with local authorities to prevent, detect and curb fraudulent activities in the country.
He also emphasized that international cooperation is key to sharing information, conducting joint investigations and applying best practices in the face of transnational technological crimes.
Williams praised the creation of CCOS as a sign of the Cambodian government’s commitment to cybersecurity and expressed his country’s interest in expanding training programmes for local authorities.
Both sides agreed to promote training projects and establish permanent information exchange channels in order to strengthen the fight against online scams and improve the digital protection of Cambodian citizens.
