Herzog met on Tuesday with his Congolese counterpart, Felix Tshisekedi, with whom he spoke privately for more than an hour before their respective delegations joined the dialogue.
Tshisekedi told reporters after the meeting that the exchange focused “on strengthening and improving our relations,” while also highlighting Israeli development in areas such as security, defense, agriculture, infrastructure, high technology, and environmental protection.
He referred to the opportunities that the DRC offers to Israeli companies, specifically in the mining, infrastructure, energy, agriculture, science, education, and healthcare sectors. He also noted that there are many opportunities to forge “strategic and mutually beneficial alliances.”
The Israeli head of State, in turn, expressed support for strengthening bilateral cooperation, which he believes has great potential for deepening and expanding its prospects.
The Israeli president thanked US President Donald Trump for his efforts to achieve peace in the conflict between the DRC and Rwanda, and expressed hope that “global attention will be directed toward this instead of obsessively focusing on Israel.”

RDC relanza relaciones con Israel en busca de cooperación
Kinshasa, 12 nov (Prensa Latina) Medios de República Democrática del Congo (RDC) destacan hoy la visita del presidente de Israel, Isaac Herzog, y el relanzamiento de las relaciones con ese país en busca de cooperación.
El jefe de Estado israelí se reunió la víspera con su homólogo congoleño, Félix Tshisekedi, con quien durante más de una hora conversó en privado antes de incorporar a sus respectivas delegaciones en el diálogo.
Tshisekedi comentó a la prensa tras el encuentro, que el intercambio se centró “en fortalecer y mejorar nuestras relaciones”, a la vez que resaltó el desarrollo israelí en ámbitos como la seguridad, defensa, agricultura, infraestructura, alta tecnología y protección ambiental.
Se refirió a las oportunidades que la RDC ofrece a las empresas israelíes, específicamente en los sectores de minería, infraestructura, energía, agricultura, ciencia, educación y salud; además de considerar que existen muchas oportunidades para forjar “alianzas estratégicas y mutuamente beneficiosas”.
Herzog, por su parte, expresó su respaldo al fortalecimiento de la cooperación bilateral, en la cual consideró que es posible profundizar mucho y ampliar las perspectivas.
El presidente israelí agradeció los esfuerzos del presidente de Estados Unidos, Donald Trump, por lograr la paz en el conflicto entre RDC y Ruanda, y deseó que “la atención mundial se dirija a esto en lugar de centrarse obsesivamente en Israel”.
