The fire was brought under control with the assistance of several fire detachments and support from forestry brigades and helicopters from the Ministry of the Interior equipped with water buckets.
“The situation is under control, and preventive monitoring is being maintained in the area to avoid flare-ups. Work continues on mop-up operations,” Fire Department officials stated.
No injuries or damage to homes were reported.
The cause of the fire is unknown, but its spread may have been linked to the prevailing high temperatures.
