Timothewos stated during the meeting that both countries enjoy long-standing diplomatic relations and maintain strong cooperation at both the bilateral and multilateral levels.
He expressed his nation’s gratitude for Tokyo’s long-standing development assistance.
The Ethiopian diplomat noted that these ties continue to strengthen, particularly in the areas of trade and investment, which underscores the need to further expand economic cooperation.
As part of the Japanese delegation’s visit, Timothewos gave a comprehensive briefing to a group of 48 business representatives from more than 35 Japanese companies, outlining the favorable local trade and investment opportunities and the benefits of ongoing macroeconomic reforms.
Ayano, in turn, emphasized the importance of maintaining and deepening cooperation between Ethiopia and Japan in these sectors, while also thanking Timothewos for the update.
She stated that they hope to further strengthen economic ties between the two countries during the Ethiopia-Japan Business Forum scheduled for Tuesday.
