This time, marking the first event organized by New Delhi regarding the leadership of the bloc representing the Global South, External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar stated that his country is focused on cooperation to address shared challenges in a balanced and inclusive manner.

Jaishankar emphasized that efforts will be made to foster dialogue, cooperation, and practical solutions, taking into account national priorities and responding to complex issues such as geopolitical uncertainties, economic outlooks, climate risks, technological changes, and development gaps.

The external affairs minister indicated that India will be guided by the goals of building resilience to strengthen capacities in areas such as agriculture, health, disaster risk reduction, energy, and supply chains, enabling members to withstand global crises.

The top Indian diplomat also emphasized the importance of promoting innovation by deploying new and emerging technologies to address socioeconomic challenges, particularly those faced by developing countries, through cooperation with startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Jaishankar deemed essential the commitment to reformed multilateralism that reflects contemporary realities and ensures that institutions such as the United Nations, the World Trade Organization (WTO), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the World Bank (WB) are more representative and inclusive.
