Addressing the 48th Graduation Ceremony of Cadets at “Leonel Rugama” Police Science University of the National Police last, Ortega highlighted the historic support of the international community at the United Nations against the blockade that Washington has maintained against Havana for more than six decades.
The president stated, “In every vote, almost all countries voted to lift the US blockade. Who voted against it? The delegate from the United States, the delegate from Israel, two or three countries at most.”
The head of State conveyed in another release Nicaragua’s support to acting Venezuelan President Delcy Rodriguez, and demanded the return of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, who were kidnapped by US military personnel and taken to the United States on January 3.
He added that President Maduro wanted peace, “but what has become clear is that the United States is interested in the oil. The president has stated it clearly, specifying the thousands of barrels of oil that nation intends to take from the Venezuelan people.”
Ortega expressed gratitude to all nations in the world and in the United States itself that have mobilized in the last few days against those aggressions and in favor of peace.
