Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated that the use of force against a sovereign State and actions against its leadership are acts of intimidation that violate seriously international law.
Guo affirmed that such conducts violate Venezuela’s sovereignty and, in this regard, emphasized support for Caracas.
The spokesperson added that China is willing to work with the international community to uphold the United Nations Charter firmly.
Following Washington’s military strike, Beijing demanded that the United States release President Nicolas Maduro and his wife immediately and cease its attempts to subvert order in Venezuela.
China urged the United States to resolve the issue with Venezuela through dialogue and negotiation.
The Foreign Ministry condemned Washington’s military attack on Caracas and expressed its profound shock at the reckless manner in which force was used against a sovereign nation and its president.
