The world must assume its legal, political, and moral responsibilities to stop Israeli violations against the occupied territories, Fattouh affirmed while addressing the Asian Parliamentary Assembly in Manama, the capital of Bahrain.
Quoted by the official Palestinian news agency, the PNC chairman urged the international community to pressure Israel to withdraw its troops from the Gaza Strip after two years of continuous aggression.
The Palestinian leader denounced “all forms of attacks and collective punishment against the Palestinian people.”
The suffering of our compatriots, especially in the Gaza Strip, is a political crime, he asserted, after condemning the ongoing killings, destruction, siege, and systematic strikes on civilians and infrastructure.
Fattouh also rejected the escalation of incursions into the occupied West Bank and the Israeli settlement activity in that territory, which, he said, represents a flagrant violation of international law.
