In the call, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of Cuba congratulated the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) on the successful organization of its 14th National Congress, and personally congratulated To Lam on his re-election to a new term.
He also highly praised the historic achievements of the 40-year Doi Moi (Renewal) policy, which not only laid a solid foundation for Vietnam to enter a new era of development, but also provided valuable experience for the economic reforms currently being implemented in Cuba, according to the CPV’s website.
Díaz-Canel also commended the leadership, vision, and resolve of the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by its General Secretary To Lam, and expressed his confidence that the Indochinese nation will advance steadily and achieve its goals for 2030 and 2045.
On behalf of the CPV and the Vietnamese people, the top party leader thanked Diaz-Canel and the leaders of the Cuban Communist Party and the Cuban state for their close attention to this important political event, as well as for their warm and sincere congratulations.
Referring to the 14th National Congress, he affirmed that it was a great success and fulfilled its immense historical purpose.
In addition to summarizing the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Congress, it assessed 40 years of reform and the results of the implementation of the Platform and Strategy for Socioeconomic Development.
It also established objectives, guidelines, and tasks for the next five years and decided on strategic issues concerning the future and destiny of the Vietnamese in the new era of development.
