At a meeting of party members in the Metropolitan Region, PCCh President Lautaro Carmona warned that the invasion of Venezuela and US President Donald Trump’s threats against Cuba and other countries jeopardize the definition of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace.

Carmona and Juan Andres Lagos, a member of the PCCh’s political commission, visited the Caribbean nation from January 17 to 22, where they held political exchanges with the country’s top leadership.

It was a high-level visit. We could meet with Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, the entire Party leadership team, the president of Parliament, and other prominent figures, Carmona told Prensa Latina.

He explained that the situation in the country is very complex because Trump is trying to stifle it and prevent any possibility of buying oil, and is even pressuring Mexico in that regard.

Carmona stated that amid these threats and the tightening of the US blockade, Cuba is preparing to defend its sovereignty and the Revolution.
