Israeli violations continue in southwest Syria

Damascus, Jan 29 (Prensa Latina) An Israeli force kidnapped a shepherd today in Quneitra province, in southwestern Syria, amid repeated human rights violations by the occupying forces, local media reported.

According to reports from Syria TV, the incident occurred in the village of Mazraat Abu Rajm and amid continuous Israeli incursions into the area.

In the same context, an Israeli military patrol, consisting of four armored vehicles and soldiers, entered the village of al-Samdaniyah al-Gharbiyah, in Quneitra, where the troops disembarked and patrolled the streets on foot.

Since the ouster of Bashar al-Assad’s government in December 2014, Israeli actions have intensified, with almost daily incursions into rural areas of Quneitra and Daraa, accompanied by arbitrary arrests and severe restrictions on the civilian population. Although some detainees were later released, others remain in custody.

The occupying forces also impose strict restrictions on the movement of residents, depriving local communities of access to natural resources and significantly reducing the land available for agriculture and grazing.

In recent months, dozens of people have been killed or wounded as a result of Israeli army gunfire and bombing in southern Syria.

Among the most serious incidents was the attack on the town of Beit Jann, on the slopes of Mount Hermon in the Damascus countryside, which left 13 dead and around 25 wounded.
