Spanish solidarity against oil blockade to Cuba

Madrid, Jan 29 (Prensa Latina) The Madrid-based Coordinating Committee for Solidarity with Cuba condemned the United States' attempted imposition of a blockade on oil imports to the Caribbean island.

In a statement, the group deplored “the new genocidal campaign launched by US imperialism” to impose a blockade on oil shipments to Cuba, which would threaten the island’s energy supply.

This action, the Madrid Coordinating Committee said, “demonstrates that Cuba’s economic problems stem from the ongoing criminal aggression by Washington against the Cuban people.”

At the same time, it considered the threat “irrefutable proof of the state terrorism practiced by imperialists against the Cuban people and of the piracy they have continued to perpetrate in the Caribbean Sea for years, including the murder of fishermen on the high seas.”

“Like all the aggressions suffered by Cuba, this new attempt at genocide is intended to completely silence the example of anti-capitalist struggle that the Cuban Revolution offers to all the peoples of the world,” he noted.

“Cuba is living proof that it is possible to successfully confront US imperialism, the cruelest and most powerful in history, by fighting for socialism and overcoming capitalist barbarism,” he added.
