Attack in DRC market kills 3 and wounded 12

Kinshasa, Jan 30 (Prensa Latina) At least three people were killed and a dozen wounded in an attack at the Sange market in the Uvira territory of South Kivu province in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

According to Radio Okapi, the explosion occurred on the night of Thursday, January 29, and the number of victims, provided by local civil society and confirmed by a provincial representative, is still provisional.

The station reported, based on witness testimony, that an unknown person threw a grenade into the middle of the market, causing panic among the population.

According to Actualite.CD, citing Red Cross sources, the incident occurred in the early afternoon, and the bodies of the three deceased were recovered by their families.

The provincial representative for the Uvira territory, Bisimwa Sindari, expressed his deep dismay at this attack on a public place and denounced the fact that the aggression directly affects innocent civilians.
