In his account on X, the Cuban president criticized that under a mendacious pretext and empty of arguments, “sold by those who make politics and enrich themselves at the expense of the suffering of our people,” President Trump continues in his alleged policy of “To stifle the Cuban economy by imposing tariffs on countries that sovereignly trade oil with Cuba”.
Diaz-Canel, pointed out that such a measure proves the crudeness of the policy against the greater of the Antilles, asking on the social network, “Did not the Secretary of State and his harlequines say that the blockade did not exist? Where are those who bore with their false stories that it is a simple “bilateral trade embargo”?.
Later on, the Cuban head of State evaluated and disqualified in harsh terms those who agitate the blockade against Cuba, while exposing the character of the executive order by stating, “this new measure highlights the fascist, criminal and genocidal nature of a clique that has hijacked the interests of the American people for purely personal purposes”.
On the eve, President Donald Trump signed an executive order declaring a “national emergency” against the Antillean nation, by which he plans to impose tariffs on countries that sell or supply oil to Cuba.
On the social network itself, Cuba’s Foreign Minister , Bruno Rodriguez, denounced the new escalation of the US blockade against the island to suffocate it through power pressure, a position he strongly condemned.
“It is now proposed to impose a total blockade on the supply of fuel to our country.
To justify it, he relies on a long list of lies that claim to present Cuba as a threat that it is not”, he said in his account at X.
In response to the denunciation of the brutal act of aggression against Cuba and its people, expressions of rejection of this policy have come from various parts of the world, while organizations and solidarity groups show their support for the Caribbean nation.
