Since Friday, TCP has stopped receiving trucks due to Supra’s action, which is now being extended to operators and terminals in the capital’s harbor in a second phase. The union is demanding payment for 13 guaranteed days of work, a demand that has drawn criticism from the Navigation Center, the main maritime port business association.
The year 2025 saw significant labor unrest at the port of Montevideo, a situation that is recurring amidst the ongoing wage council negotiations.
