The Cuba Cooperation France Association (CubaCoop), the solidarity association Cuba Linda, and the Cuba Si France solidarity association, organizations active in recent decades in this nation in support of the Caribbean nation, made the call and condemned US President Donald Trump’s decision to declare Cuba an “unusual and extraordinary” threat to US national security.
The French associations, in the voice of their leaders and representatives, framed Trump’s announcement and his threat of tariffs on countries that supply or sell oil to the island as an unprecedented escalation of Washington’s aggression and a tightening of the blockade it has imposed for more than six decades.
CubaCoop urged in a statement French and European leaders to take action until the United States withdraws its unilateral measure and lifts the economic, commercial, and financial blockade.
The France Cuba and Cuba Linda groups called in a joint statement to raise their voices against what they described as “a fascist attack by a decadent empire that seeks to plunge all of humanity into a constant existential threat.”
Cuba Si France representative Michel Taupin called on social media for an urgent mobilization to save the Caribbean nation, which he considered to be in danger, even from military intervention.
The French organizations denied that Cuba poses a threat to Washington’s security and rejected the lies used to justify Trump’s measure, which they branded contrary to international law.
