Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, announced on his X profile that the formulation of a framework for negotiations with Washington is progressing.
Larijani traveled to Moscow, where he was received by President Vladimir Putin, who called for dialogue to prevent a new conflict in the region.
Trump confirmed to Fox News last night that the two countries are “talking,” but immediately added, “We will see if we can do something; otherwise, we will see what happens.”
As part of the efforts to reduce tensions, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian had a phone call with his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, conveying that Tehran is seeking a diplomatic solution.
“We neither want nor seek war,” the president affirmed, while also assuring that his country will defend itself if attacked.
