ZAST strongly condemns President Donald Trump’s executive order, which declares a supposed “national emergency” and seeks to intimidate and punish sovereign states for trading with the Caribbean nation.
This unilateral move represents a dangerous escalation of the economic war and a clear attempt to coerce third countries through threats, blackmail, and extraterritorial sanctions, the Zimbabwean organization’s statement emphasized.
Washington’s justification for labeling Cuba an “unusual and extraordinary threat” to US security is false, irrational, and offensive, demonstrating a disregard for truth, international law, and ethical governance in pursuit of imperial domination.
The United States has failed to subjugate or dismantle the Cuban Revolution for more than six decades through economic strangulation, political isolation, and relentless propaganda.
Despite this hostility, Cuba has become a benchmark of sovereignty, social justice, solidarity, and peaceful cooperation, providing medical assistance, education, and humanitarian aid to countries around the world, including in Africa.
The ZAST affirmed that Cuba poses no threat to any nation and has consistently demonstrated its commitment to peace, dialogue, mutual respect, and international cooperation.
